ERFA continue his dialogue with the Commission to reach a financial agreement so important for new entrants and small independent companies.
ERFA reminds: 1/ the on-board equipment costs for a national locos fleet represent only 10 to 15% of the total ERTMS cost for a country - 2/ the long migration period (10 to 15/20 years!) leading to full ERTMS equipped countries or core-network corridors is penalizing new entrants obliged in-between to add – to already existing on-board national systems – ERTMS modules for lines being gradually equipped - 3/ Some countries are financing themselves a ERTMS deployment plan subsidizing at the same time their national fleet …. Consequently benefiting – when operating outside – from discriminatory advantages!
