The President Coart and the Secretary General Tonon met successively Mr. Brian Simpson, Chair of the Transport and Tourism Committee (TRAN) and Mr. Mathieu Grosch, Coordinator of the PPE group in TRAN Committee. ERFA delivered the following message: 1/ The 4th RP is of key importance to define the future role of IM. The new entrants are just willing to do their job without discrimination which implies an IM with more essential functions 2/ There is a disproportioned lobby of historic operators compared to their home State lobby > there is a problem of democratic issue and danger for new entrants 3/ If there is no more new entrants > no more competition and other sectors needing competitive logistic chains including rail, will suffer 4/ The new entrants do not at all generate social dumping > but we have to be careful because a danger of social harmonization. The ERFA message passed and ERFA is known and identified as key player in the debate. Finally there is awareness about the deregulation process vulnerability.
